Virginia Giuffre’s family, who was among Jeffrey Epstein’s best -known accusers for sex trafficking, said he was shocking to hear President Donald Trump saying that the fallen financier had “stolen” Giuffre and insisted that Epstein’s former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, remains in prison.
Giuffre, who had accused Prince Andrew of England and other influential men of having sexually exploited her while she was a teenager and victim of Epstein traffic, was a central figure in conspiracy theories linked to this case. She committed suicide this year.
His family’s declaration is the latest twist concerning Epstein, who committed suicide in a New York prison in 2019 when he was the subject of federal accusations of sex trafficking, and the republican president, who was once his friend. Trump denied being aware of Epstein’s crimes and said he had broken all relationships with him years ago, but he must always answer questions about this case.
Answer a journalist’s question Tuesday, Trump said he was angry with Epstein because he stole employees and Epstein had removed Giuffre from his club in Palm Beach, Florida.
“We were shocked to hear President Trump talking about our sister and saying that he knew that Virginia had been” kidnapped “by Mar-A-Lago,” said the family’s declaration.
“We and the public ask for answers; The survivors deserve it, “she added.
The White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt stressed that the president answered the question of a journalist and had not mentioned Giuffre himself.
