An apartment listed for $3,495 per month in the NoLIta neighborhood, an acronym for North of Little Italy in New York, sparked rather negative reactions when an influencer filmed his tour of the building.

Nothing seems out of the ordinary when the tour begins in the entrance hall. The video posted on real estate agent David Okocha’s Instagram account, according to the New York Post, shows a hallway with high ceilings, beautiful moldings and brick walls.
However, it is when you enter the apartment that the impression changes drastically.

Immediately after passing the front door of the accommodation, Mr. Okocha comes up against a low glass block wall.
“Look at this. Now, I would like you to guess what is behind (this low wall),” he said, calling out to his subscribers.

“It’s a shower,” he laments.
In fact, the shower is in the kitchen and there is not even a door or curtain to separate it from the rest of the apartment. Additionally, there are missing tiles to prevent water from seeping into the wall. The toilet is in a small closed room right next to it, without a sink or mirror.
The rest of the apartment is also very small. A tiny stove, placed casually, marks the separation between the kitchen and the common space which is to serve as a living room, bedroom and dining room.

Everything is offered for almost $3,500. Would you be willing to pay this price to live in New York?
