The World Health Organization described the “virtual destruction” of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip as a result of an Israeli army operation as “horrifying.” This currency – according to the United Nations – claimed the lives of at least 8 patients.
“Several medical personnel have been arrested, and the World Health Organization and its partners are urgently seeking information about their situation,” said a post by WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on the X platform.
The organization’s Director-General indicated that “many patients were forced to evacuate themselves amid risks to their health and security, as ambulances were unable to reach the facility.”

Tedros stressed that the health system in Gaza was suffering before the hospital was destroyed, adding that “the loss of another hospital, even if it was functioning at the minimum, is a strong blow.
