A 40-year-old American woman fell to her death while hiking with her baby and husband in an Arizona mountain.
Zaynab Joseph, who accidentally fell from a steep 42-meter cliff on Bear Mountain, was found by a group of hikers near an embankment, the New York Post reported Thursday.
The victim, who was still breathing when the hikers arrived, succumbed to his injuries some time later, the sheriff’s office told local media, adding that the cause of the accident was under investigation.
The victim’s husband and child were evacuated by helicopter, while the victim’s body was recovered by emergency workers, according to authorities who said the victim’s family from California was staying in an Airbnb in Sedona.
“No words can describe the pain our families are experiencing, especially her husband and three young children,” Farwa Zaidi, who identifies herself as the victim’s sister, wrote on Facebook, according to the “New York Post.”
