The day after a historic verdict, a New York criminal lawyer believes it is not impossible that Donald Trump will end up in prison after being found guilty of 34 counts.

“I believe (the odds of him going to prison) are going up because Mr. Trump continues to say bad things about the judge, about the system, about the juries, about everyone that was relevant to this case », explained Me Matthew Galluzzo in interview with LCN, Friday.
According to the lawyer, the former president’s attitude after the verdict showed the judge “that he has no respect for the procedure.”
If ever such a conviction falls against the Republican candidate, Mr.e Galluzzo doesn’t think it will be before the election. The deadline would be just as long to authorize any Trump appeal.
“It takes time, normally we talk about maybe a year to decide on an appeal. Certainly the decision would come after the election in November,” he stressed.
“Even if the New York judge decides to impose a prison sentence, it would ultimately be the decision of the American public,” recalled the lawyer.
