Through interviews and campaign meetings, the tempestuous Republican candidate himself offered some answers.
Donald Trump’s plan for America and the world, as told by Donald Trump.
Joe Biden’s rival in the November presidential election has promised to launch “the largest expulsion operation” of migrants on the first day of his mandate.
“We will send them back as quickly as possible,” he said, accusing the migrants of “poisoning the blood of the country”.
The septuagenarian, known for his famous wall project, does not rule out “using the army” and opening new detention camps in order to carry out these expulsions.
He also plans to cancel the automatic soil right “for children born to irregular migrants” and to “reinstate” his controversial migration decree targeting Muslim countries.
Donald Trump has assured for months that he could end the war in Ukraine “in 24 hours”, without ever explaining how.
“I will resolve this issue before moving into the White House as president-elect,” he even said during a meeting in Detroit in mid-June.
The former leader is very critical of the billions of dollars released by the United States for Kyiv. And additional funds requested by President Zelensky. “This will never stop,” he denounced.
Asked whether he would remain committed to NATO during his possible second term, he replied: “It depends on whether they treat us right.”
Regarding the economy, the Republican billionaire is considering customs duties of “more than 10%” on all imports.
He intends, with this revenue, to finance a “large tax cut for the middle class, the upper class, the lower class (and) business people”.
The former president, who waged a fierce trade war with China during his first term, also plans to revoke the “more favored nation” clause granted to Beijing, to develop bilateral trade.
Donald Trump also claims that he will “put an end to inflation” by “stopping the invasion” of migrants. He argues, without proof, that his plan for mass expulsions would have the effect of “rapidly reducing the cost of housing.”
The Republican does not miss an opportunity to point out that it is partly thanks to him that the right to abortion has been considerably weakened in the United States. But it is much more ambiguous when it comes to talking about the future of voluntary terminations of pregnancy in the country.
The candidate is not campaigning on a very unpopular promise to ban abortion nationwide through federal law, as the religious right would like.
“You have to follow your soul and conscience on this issue, but don’t forget that you also have to win elections,” he declared in early April.
Donald Trump slammed the door on the Paris Climate Agreement during his first term.
If he was re-elected? “I will quickly put an end to the great green scam” of Joe Biden, said the former leader during a meeting in mid-June, in reference to the hundreds of billions of dollars committed by his successor for the climate.
“I will repeal Joe Biden’s insane plan for electric vehicles and we will drill (oil) like crazy!” he assured his supporters in Wisconsin.
“Energy prices will fall very quickly. In many cases, we will cut your energy costs in half,” he promised.
Donald Trump, who was criminally convicted at the end of May, constantly insists without proof that Joe Biden is responsible for his legal troubles.
The Republican accuses his Democratic rival of being “the most corrupt president in the history of the United States” and pledged to “appoint a real special prosecutor to prosecute him”, if he is elected.
He also said he was “absolutely” ready to pardon all those convicted of invading the Capitol on January 6, 2021, in an attempt to prevent Congress from certifying the victory of his opponent Joe Biden.
