The American Washington Times reported information stating that the customs duties imposed by President Donald Trump will return with benefits on many local American industries.

She said that in light of the escalating controversy over these definitions, many American companies fear the negative effects of these policies, especially high prices. However, a number of local industries see in these definitions a golden opportunity to enhance its location in the local market and compete with cheap foreign products that were sinking of the American market.

Among the newspaper mentioned in the industries that benefit from the new fees the following:

Shrimp industry

This industry is one of the most prominent beneficiaries of new policies, as American fishermen have been suffering from the invasion of imported shrimp, which constitutes about 96% of the total local consumption, and comes from countries such as India, Indonesia and Ecuador, where production costs are much lower than the United States. As a result, this industry lost half of its value, closed hundreds of companies, and the number of fishermen who are largely licensed in states such as Texas and Alabama declined. The shrimp federations welcomed these drawings as a “lifestyle” for an industry facing the risk of extinction.

Local beer companies

If the prices of foreign products rise, the American consumer may go to the cheapest local brands instead of Mexican, German and Canadian marks. The newspaper pointed out that there are more than 100 beer manufacturing facilities in 24 states, which rely heavily on local production inputs.

Heavy equipment and machinery

Major companies such as Catpeberlar and John Deir maintain a large percentage of their production within the United States, and are a candidate for their high profits thanks to the new fees. The officials of the two companies emphasized that the components of their products come mostly from the local market, which enhances their competitiveness and makes them safe from the great influence of Chinese and Canadian definitions.

Steel and aluminum industry

Since the imposition of 25% fees on these products, the local industry has witnessed a remarkable recovery, including creating new job opportunities and investments estimated at 20 billion dollars. The authorities represented for this sector believe that the new policies protect the market from government -backed foreign dumping, and they also restored confidence to the American industry.

In conclusion, these new policies show two contradictory faces: while some people fear the high prices and the outbreak of commercial wars, some local industries have a tool for recovery and return to competition.
