A poll published Sunday by the New York Times reveals that although Kamala Harris is doing better than Trump in voting intentions among visible minorities, her numbers are worse than those of her Democratic predecessors.

Among voters from Latin America, the presidential candidate obtained 56% of the votes, or 19% more than her Republican rival.
However, this is lower than the 62% that Joe Biden obtained in 2020 and Hilary Clinton’s 68% in 2016.
However, a quarter of these voters say they are undecided.
The last Democrat to fall below 60% of Hispanic voters was John Kerry, in the 2004 general election, which he lost to George W. Bush.
Among voters from the black community, Kamala Harris obtained 78% of voting intentions, which is considerably higher than Donald Trump, but again much less than her predecessors.
Hilary Clinton obtained 92% of the votes of these voters in 2016, or 2% more than Joe Biden in 2020.
For his part, Donald Trump obtained 15% of the voting intentions of voters from the black community, or 6% more than what he obtained in 2020.
Candidates for the November presidential election therefore continue to try to court voters in swing states as the election approaches.
Kamala Harris is campaigning on Sunday in the state of North Carolina, while her Republican rival is in Arizona.
