Excited by their football team’s unexpected victory Saturday night, students at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, tore off one of the goals and carried it across town before throwing it into the river .

In the numerous videos and photos shared on social networks, we can see students perched on the goal trying to bend it.

They eventually managed to knock down the poles and pull them out of the ground.

The crowd of delirious students then grabbed the end and paraded it a few kilometers through the streets of Nashville before throwing it into the Cumberland River.

According to several American media, Vanderbilt University was fined $100,000 by the Southeastern Conference (SEC) because fans broke the rules by rushing onto the field after their team’s historic victory, the Commodores, against the University of Alabama.
