American singer Madonna was forced to apologize to a fan mid-performance after he pointed at him in the crowd and berated him for remaining seated… before realizing he was using a wheelchair.
“What are you doing sitting over there? What are you doing sitting?” the singer insisted to thousands of spectators during a show at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California last week, Sky News reported.
The 65-year-old singer-songwriter’s blunder, filmed by an audience member and shared on TikTok, had been viewed more than 3.4 million times as of Monday.
In the images, we can see the sixty-year-old momentarily stopping her concert to address the spectator sitting in the crowd, before realizing that it is a person in a wheelchair.
“Oh, okay… Politically incorrect, sorry about that. I’m glad you’re here, Madonna continued according to the images. Oh my God!”
In the comments of the video, several Internet users criticized the attitude of the singer, who is already the subject of complaints from other admirers for concerts that started several hours late.
“Madonna and her attitude exasperated,” commented one of them, while another suggested that the seated fan could have “been tired since Madonna always arrives one to two hours late.”
Others did not mince their words regarding the diva, whom many described as narcissistic.
“Madonna’s ego for pointing out a person who PAID to see her for sitting down,” a third mentioned in the comments.
The singer is currently halfway through The Celebration Tour, which includes 80 shows around the world, and is set to perform her final concert at the Kia Forum on Monday.
