Martin County police have released video of the arrest of the suspect in the alleged assassination attempt on Donald Trump after he fled the former president’s West Palm Beach golf course Sunday afternoon.

The suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, can be seen walking backwards toward the officers with both hands on his head.
The officers then rushed to handcuff him.
The operation went off without a hitch, Martin County Sheriff William Snyder said at a news conference.

According to him, it was a typical case of a criminal known to the police being arrested on the road.
Mr. Routh now faces two counts of firearms possession.
Further charges could potentially be brought against him.
He will return to court on September 23.
