Trump took advantage of his visit to take photos with first responders and sign the barracks newspaper.
“He thanked them for their work,” Jim Jong, spokesperson for the New York Fire Department, told the media. Politico.
The latter also confided that it was Mr. Trump’s campaign team which contacted the barracks to organize the visit. She also paid for the pizza.
Amanda Farinacci, another spokesperson, added that “we are grateful that people are showing their support for us, regardless of their political affiliation.” The barracks had already hosted Democratic President Barack Obama and Republican Vice President Mike Pence.
