(Caracas) The Venezuelan government said on Tuesday that 66 Venezuelan children were still “kidnapped” in the United States after being separated from their parents during the expulsion process to Venezuela.
Caracas, who has already obtained the return of several children, demands from the administration of the American president Donald Trump that the children be given to the Venezuelan authorities for their return to the country with their families.
“We have 66 children kidnapped in the United States, it is a figure that increases every day, it is something very worrying. It is a cruel and inhuman policy, “said Camila Fabri, president of the government plan” Return to the Fatherland “launched in 2018 by President Nicolas Maduro for the voluntary return of migrants.
“We are going to bring back the 66 children,” she promised in the company of a group of mothers who read a letter addressed to the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, in which they ask her to intercede for children placed in reception centers.
Of Italian nationality, Fabri is the wife of Alex Saab, a naturalized Colombian businessman Venezuelan accused of being the “straw man” of President Nicolas Maduro. Arrested in Cape Verde, then imprisoned in the United States, he was released in 2023 during an exchange of prisoners between Caracas and Washington.
So far, 21 children, including Maikelys Espinoza, daughter of one of the 252 Venezuelan migrants deported by the United States in a high security prison in Salvador and released on July 18 after a new exchange of prisoners, have returned to the country.
Power demanded the return of children by calling for demonstrations and deploying significant propaganda in the official media.
Fabri also indicated that in 2025, 10,631 Venezuelan migrants were repatriated. This figure includes expelled from the United States but also migrants blocked in Mexico who were brought back thanks to the return to the fatherland.
