The young Republican senator JD Vance, Donald Trump’s right-hand man in the race for the White House, accepted Thursday morning an invitation from the CBS network to debate with Tim Walz.

Kamala Harris’ new running mate had, for his part, agreed to take part in this televised exchange the day before.

The show will be recorded from New York, the network said.

The American presidential election of November 5 was completely turned upside down by the withdrawal three weeks ago of Joe Biden, in favor of his vice-president Kamala Harris.

The new Democratic candidate will face former Republican President Donald Trump in a debate scheduled for September 10.
