United States Vice President Kamala Harris will attend the highly anticipated UN climate conference this week in Dubai, the White House announced on Wednesday, after criticism of Joe Biden’s absence.

“The President asked Vice President Harris to attend COP28 on his behalf to demonstrate U.S. global leadership on climate,” the White House said in a statement.
