(Washington) United States Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha Vance are expecting a fourth child, the couple announced Tuesday, a rare event in the history of the White House.

5:08 p.m.

“We are very happy to share the news that Usha is pregnant with our fourth child, a boy. Usha and the baby are doing well, and we all look forward to welcoming her at the end of July,” they said in a statement.

Now 41, JD Vance became the third-youngest vice president in US history a year ago.

With Usha Vance, a 40-year-old ex-lawyer, he is already the father of two sons, aged 8 and 5, and a 4-year-old daughter.

The couple met at Yale Law School and married in 2014.

The last child born to a sitting president or vice president was in August 1963, with the premature birth – and death two days later – of Patrick Kennedy, son of John and Jackie Kennedy.

Before that, we have to go back to the end of the 19e century and the second term of Grover Cleveland to find the last children of a president or vice-president born in the White House.
