A dog who disappeared in California nine months ago was miraculously found in Michigan, more than 3,770 km away, to the delight of her owners, we learned Thursday.
Mishka, a small dog from the terrier family, disappeared without a trace from her family home last July in San Diego, near the Mexican border.
She was found a few days ago in Harper Woods in the suburbs of Detroit, on the Canadian border, after crossing the United States diagonally for nearly 4,000 km.
A local animal shelter was able to identify her using her microchip and contacted her owners, who immediately came to collect her.
“It’s a story that Hollywood would dream of telling,” said the shelter on Facebook, where the institution posted images of this unexpected reunion.
How Mishka crossed into the United States has not been established at this point.
