Two young American women who were supposed to go to New Orleans on Friday for a friend’s birthday party were kicked off the plane at Los Angeles airport, California, for an unlikely reason.
While comfortably seated in their seats on the Spirit Airlines plane, Teresa Araujo and Tara were scolded by a flight attendant who ordered them to get dressed because they were wearing crop tops.
The 34-year-old woman, who was wearing jeans and a crop top and had a jacket within reach, had to put on her little sweater, before taking it off again, because it was hot in the cabin, according to what “The Sun” reported.
Visibly upset when the passenger asked him to consult the company’s regulations, the flight attendant returned to the charge and raised his voice to the great amazement of the other passengers: “Put on your coat, I’m not going to ask you for one. once again.”
Against all expectations, the plane returned to the boarding gate, before seeing the two women disembark under the incredulous gaze of the other passengers, continued the British tabloid.
“Other passengers got involved and tried to defend us, but the manager told us that if we did not leave the plane, the police would have to intervene,” Ms. Araujo recounted on TikTok.
“At the airport, they explained to us that when someone is kicked off a plane, there is no refund or assignment to another flight,” explained the thirty-something who had to book another flight, five hours later, while the company says it is investigating this incident.
