Ibrahim Ozçürkçi, Chairman of the Turkish-Syrian Business Council – affiliated with the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Council – stated that efforts are being made to raise the volume of trade between his country and Syria to 10 billion dollars in the short and medium term.

Short term goals
Ozçürkçi added that Turkey has short- and medium-term goals in its trade with its southern neighbor, noting that the volume of trade with Syria rose to 2.5 billion dollars in 2024, after it was about 300 million before 2011.
The head of the Turkish-Syrian Business Council confirmed that, within the framework of short and medium goals, work is being done to raise the volume of trade with Syria to the level of 10 billion dollars.
He pointed out that they in the Council of Foreign Economic Relations are working to develop projects to increase the contribution of Syrian businessmen working in the country to Turkish exports.
Earlier this month, Turkish Trade Minister Omar Polat said that a new era had begun in relations with Syria, noting that there is a 910-kilometre border between the two countries and 8 gates and customs directorates.
Polat stated that Turkish companies will play an important role in the reconstruction process of Syria thanks to the advantage that his country enjoys in its production, industrial and logistical capacity.
