(Washington) Donald Trump attends a meeting on Tuesday bringing together hundreds of American generals and admirals from around the world, convened very unusual on a military base near Washington.
No officials explained the objective of this meeting, which intervenes against a background of political takeover of the American army, between military deployment in American cities and a high -ranking purge.
Organized on the initiative of the Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, who will make a speech there, this rally pleased the American president.
“I love it. I mean, I think it’s great, “Donald Trump told his secretary on Thursday. “Let him sympathize with the generals and admirals from around the world,” he added.

Donald Trump will also go to the quantico military base (Virginia), and should be expressed there, according to his official program.
The American vice-president, JD Vance, wanted to minimize the importance of this meeting, telling journalists that she was “not at all unusual” and that he was “weird” that the press makes such a story.
Sean Parnell, the spokesperson for the Department of Defense, simply said in a statement that Pete Hegseth “will (IT) a speech before his senior military officials”, without more precision.
The exceptional nature of this meeting, and the lack of official reason, aroused many hypotheses as to its objective and on the possibility of an important announcement concerning the Pentagon.
Large movements
The Department of Defense, usually rather preserved from directly political interventions, was particularly marked by the arrival of Donald Trump in January at the White House.

The deployment of soldiers in the streets of several American cities, something very rare in the United States, was strongly criticized by the democratic opposition.
The deadly strikes carried out in the Caribbean having destroyed boats which, according to Washington, transported drugs, were pointed out abroad. Donald Trump also ordered strikes against Iranian nuclear sites and Houthis, Yemeni rebels supported by Tehran.
The arrival of Donald Trump also rocked an internally renowned Pentagon “Department of War”.
In May, its secretary Pete Hegseth ordered significant reductions in the number of highest officers in the US military, including a reduction of at least 20 % in the number of four -star generals and admirals in practice.
The Pentagon has also announced that it wanted to reduce its civilian workforce by at least 5 %.
Several officials of the US military have also been pushed towards the exit since Donald Trump’s return to the White House in January.
The American president notably dismissed in February, without giving an explanation, the chief of staff Charles “CQ” Brown.
The head of the American Navy, American coast guards, the Chief of the Air Force and several high-ranking military lawyers were also returned.
