The Republican leader of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, condemned Thursday “a day of shame in American history” when Donald Trump was found guilty on all counts at his criminal trial in New York.

“Today is a day of shame in American history. Democrats applaud the conviction of the opposing party leader on ridiculous charges, based on the testimony of a convicted and disbarred (attorney). It was a purely political exercise, and not a judicial one,” he thundered in a press release.

“No one is above the law,” responds the Biden campaign team

“We saw today in New York that no one is above the law,” a Joe Biden campaign spokesperson responded Thursday after former President Donald Trump was found guilty of payments hidden from a porn star.

“However, there is only one way to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office: the ballot. Delinquent or not, Trump will be the Republican candidate,” added Michael Tyler in a press release.
