(Washington) After having insulted his predecessors Joe Biden and Barack Obama in writing and orally, Donald Trump has reached a new level by having plaques hung in the White House repeating his grievances against the two Democratic presidents.

The Republican president had already caused a stir by installing a gallery of portraits of former presidents under an exterior colonnade leading to the Oval Office in which the photograph of Joe Biden is replaced by that of a signing machine.

This echoes Donald Trump’s claims that his predecessor was so senile that he could no longer govern.

On Wednesday, journalists discovered that plaques had been added under the portraits, with biographical summaries.

Those of Joe Biden and Barack Obama are, unsurprisingly, very negative.

Joe Biden is described in these terms: “Sleeping Joe Biden was, by far, the worst president in the history of the United States.”

Of the first black president of the United States, the plaque says he is “one of the most divisive political figures in history.” He is also called “Barack Hussein Obama” in the style of Donald Trump, who helped amplify conspiracy theories about the origins of his predecessor.

Joe Biden is described in these terms: “Sleeping Joe Biden was, by far, the worst president in the history of the United States.”

The plaque also makes the false claim that the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump.

As for the current president, his biography is obviously very laudatory.

It says he ended eight conflicts in eight months, a figure considered largely imaginary, and that he sparked millions of billions in investment in the United States, an unverifiable claim.

Since his return to power on January 20, Donald Trump has transformed the White House into a setting to his taste and glory.

In addition to building a gigantic ballroom, he multiplied the gilded ornaments and hung portraits of himself – going against the custom according to which a president only sees his effigy displayed after leaving power.
