(Washington) Donald Trump swept away accusations of hostile acts carried out by China on Sunday against the United States and assured “to get along well” with this country, while Washington and Beijing have just agreed on a general framework to smooth their commercial disputes.

“We get along well with China. I think that getting along with China is a very good thing, “said the American president in an interview with the American channel Fox News, in the program Sunday Morning Futures.

“They hacked our telecommunications system, stolen intellectual property. There was COVVI-19, Fentanyl … You know, all these things, “said journalist Maria Bartimoro.

To which the American president replied: “You do not think that we act in the same way with them? We do it, we do a lot. (…) This is how the world works. It’s a bad world ”.

He also rejected the concerns aroused by the charge of Chinese researchers by the American authorities last month, accused of having introduced a toxic fungus in the United States.

“But we don’t know where it comes from. I mean, does it come from the country, or are these three scathing that transported something by chance? “Replied Donald Trump.

Referring to the substantial customs duties of 145 % imposed by Washington on the products imported from China – paused until August – the American president assured that “everything had stopped in China”, when they are temporarily implemented in April.

China announced on Friday to have “confirmed the details” of a trade agreement with the United States, assuring that Washington would raise restrictions against it and that it could validate the export of more articles subject to control.

After talks in Geneva (Switzerland) in May, Washington and Beijing agreed to break their trade war and agreed to temporarily reduce the prohibitive customs duties they imposed on their respective products.
