(Washington) Donald Trump promised on Tuesday to “settle crime” in Chicago, the northern United States, calling it as a “most dangerous city in the world, by far”.
“I will solve the problem of crime, as I did in Washington,” he wrote on his social social platform, referring to the deployment of the federal police which he imposed in the American capital.
After Los Angeles in June and Washington since mid-August, the Trump administration threatened to send federal police and military, such as the National Guard, to other Democratic cities such as Chicago, New York, Baltimore or Boston.
On Sunday, American Democrats warned against a “invasion” of Chicago by the military.
Illinois Democratic Governor JB Pritzker, one of the opponents in view of the Republican President, accused the billionaire, whom he had already dealt with “dictator”, of seeking to question this type of deployment the mid-term legislative elections of 2026.
JB “Pritzker is desperately needing help, he doesn’t just know it yet,” added Donald Trump on Truth Social on Tuesday.

The mayor of Chicago, Democrat Brandon Johnson, has taken a decree supposed to limit the authority of possible federal police.
In Washington, where they have been deployed since mid-August, armed soldiers equipped with armored vehicles patrolled in the streets or in the metro, especially near national institutions and monuments.
