(Washington) Donald Trump urged Republican senators on Thursday to be reluctantly relying on certain provisions for his budgetary “big and beautiful law” and to adopt this flagship text as soon as possible at the start of the second term.

“We don’t need people who are doing their interesting,” said the American president during an event at the White House dedicated to this “One Big Beautiful Bill” as he dubbed it.

The 79 -year -old Republican was visibly addressed to elected officials on his own camp who threaten to delay the process at the Congress.

Behind him stood from the Americans who, according to his administration, would benefit from this megaproject of law. The text promises to materialize some of the most important campaign promises in the Republican.

First, the extension of tax credits adopted during its first mandate, but also the elimination of taxation on tips, or additional billions of dollars for border police in order to combat immigration.

Already adopted in the House of Representatives, the bill is currently discussed in the Senate, where some Republicans – in addition to all Democrats – drag their feet against certain cuts provided for in public spending.

Because to finance – among others – the staggering extension of “Trump tax credits”, the text plans to slash in Medicaid, the public health insurance program on which millions of Americans depend on modest income. It also plans to greatly reduce the SNAP program, the main food aid in the country.

And if the Senate decides to deeply modify the text to soften these cuts, it risks leading to the anger of ultra -conservative elected officials in the House of Representatives, who threatened on their side to reject the new version when the parliamentary shuttle will return the text to them.

If the Republicans in fact control the two chambers of the Congress, their margins are fine enough for party officials to know that they cannot afford a large number of refractories in their camp.

They set themselves up as a deadline on July 4, the United States National Day, to send the “big and beautiful law” to the Donald Trump office for promulgation, but the deadline arrives quickly.

Questioned at the end of the event at the White House Thursday to find out if the Congress would hold this period, Donald Trump replied: “We hope so. »»
