US President Donald Trump said he does not have to have to impose customs duties on China, in his latest friendly statements on the second largest economy in the world, as he continues to threaten to take sweeping measures.
For its part, China confirmed that commercial differences with the United States can be resolved through dialogue and consultation.
“We have a very wide authority over China, which is the customs duties, and they do not want it, and I prefer not to have to resort to it, but it is a tremendous force for China,” said Trump in an interview with Fox News.
Trump uses fees as a frequent threat against friends and opponents, and for the United States the expected additional returns will help to impose these fees in financing local priorities.
On his second day of the White House, the US President threatened to impose 10% fees on China on February 1, against the background of “Fintanel” flow on America.
Media reports quoted the United States Control Administration that most of the quantities of fentanel that enter the country come from ingredients made in China, and are smuggled by Mexico by drug gangs.
The solution to the dialogue
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said in a journalist in Beijing today, Friday, that there are “huge common interests” between the United States and China, adding that “the two sides must organize dialogue and consultations.”
She pointed out that “economic and trade cooperation between China and the United States is useful for both parties.”
During the election campaign, the Republicans launched additional fees on China, up to about 60%, which economists may destroy American trade with the Chinese economy, which depends heavily on exports.
After taking office two days ago, Trump did not impose customs duties immediately, but rather issued an order directing the agencies to “investigate and treat the American trade deficit.”
Later that day, Trump told the correspondents that he was considering imposing 25% customs duties on Mexico and Canada at the beginning of next month.
In general, this led to fluctuations in the market.
