Kamala Harris emerged as the big winner in Tuesday night’s presidential debate, but the vice president is struggling to make a mark among American voters, according to a Léger poll commissioned by the New York Post and published the day after the first face-to-face between the two candidates.

Half of the respondents who saw the debate, in whole or in part, on ABC News say that Mr.me Harris won the verbal joust against 29% for Trump, while 13% were not convinced by either candidate.

Additionally, 60% of respondents to the poll described the debate as “good,” compared to just 42% for the previous one between Joe Biden and Donald Trump in late June.
But, beyond the debate, it would be Donald Trump who would have gained a point in voting intentions, going from 46 to 47%, while Kamala Harris stagnates at 50%.
The poll was conducted on September 10 and 11 among 1,174 Americans who “will vote or are likely to vote” in the November 5 presidential election, according to the New York newspaper.
It should be noted that the margin of error for this poll was determined to be plus or minus 2.7%.
