Republican Donald Trump refused to explicitly commit to recognizing the result of his rematch against Joe Biden in the November presidential election, according to an interview broadcast Thursday.

“If everything is conducted in an honest manner, I will gladly accept the results,” declared the former president, questioned about the presidential election in Wisconsin by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “But if this is not the case, then we will have to fight for the good of the country.”

These comments echo the statements of the septuagenarian during the 2020 presidential election. Donald Trump has never accepted his defeat against his Democratic opponent Joe Biden during this election.
“To make it short: Donald Trump represents a danger for our Constitution and for democracy,” said a spokesperson for Biden’s campaign team, reacting to the billionaire’s interview.
During another exchange, published Tuesday, the tempestuous Republican had already been very evasive about the possibility of political violence in the wake of the November election.
“If we don’t win, you know, it depends,” assured Donald Trump, whose supporters, convinced of his victory in the 2020 presidential election, had attacked the seat of the American Congress in unimaginable chaos.
Donald Trump is being prosecuted for his role in this assault, and for having attempted to reverse the results of the last presidential election, particularly in the state of Georgia.
