Donald Trump on Monday blamed his alleged new assassination attempt on the “rhetoric” of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

The Republican candidate claimed in an exclusive interview with Fox News that the suspect “accepted the narrative of Biden and Harris, and acted accordingly.”
“Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, even though I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones who are destroying the country, from the inside and the outside.”
Trump highlighted past comments from Biden and Harris, calling Trump a “threat to democracy” while telling Americans they were leaders of “unity.”
For the former US president, “it’s quite the opposite,” he said. “These are people who want to destroy our country,” he continued.
“They call it the enemy within,” he said. “They are the real threat.”
