After weeks of the White House media hype, President Donald Trump announced a new package of customs duties, which he himself described as “mutual” on both friends and opponents.
Trump said in a speech this evening in Washington that from midnight, the United States will impose a 25% fee on all foreign cars, adding that his country imposed customs duties of only 2.5% on foreign cars and the European Union imposes on us 10% fees.
“We impose customs duties up to 2.8% on many commodities, while other countries impose fees with 200 to 400%,” Trump added, stressing that the United States can no longer continue the policy of unilateral economic surrender.
He stressed that the United States will account for the countries that have treated us badly, including non -cash barriers.
The American President considered that these customs measures would enable us to make America more great again than ever, indicating that he will impose on all countries the same proportions of the customs duties that they impose on us.
These new drawings – which Trump called “Tahrir Day” – come in an attempt to enhance American industrialization and punish other countries for what he describes as years of unfair commercial practices. However, according to the evaluation of most economists, this risky move threatens to introduce the economy in a stagnation and damage to alliances for decades.
