A group of friends from Los Angeles, returning from a stay in Las Vegas, became trapped on a deserted road in Nevada, after following directions from Google Maps. The proposed route, which was supposed to save them 50 minutes of their time, due to the closure of interstate 15, ended up being much longer.
On the way back, Google Maps suggested a faster route to avoid traffic congestion on Interstate 15 due to a storm. “Ironically, we thought it was a safe option and what’s more, it was 50 minutes faster that way,” explains Shelby Esler, according to the New York Post.
However, what they didn’t know was that he absolutely had to pass through Interstate 15 to return to Los Angeles. So, they found themselves trapped on a non-busy and completely deserted road in Nevada.
According to a video posted on TikTok by Shelby, a line of cars ended up in the same place as them, in the middle of nowhere. All the cars remained trapped on the path, which was obviously not accessible.

Although they tried to call for help, the storm lengthened the wait time.
After several hours, they finally managed to get out of this perilous path, thanks to a tow truck. However, this journey caused a lot of damage to the cars.
