Three 30-year-olds from Missouri found frozen to death in their friend’s backyard may have consumed a cocktail of illegal drugs before losing consciousness in the cold, toxicology reports have shown.
David Harrington, Clayton McGeeney and Ricky Johnson, aged 37, 36 and 38, allegedly ingested “several” different substances on January 7 at the home of their friend Jordan Willis, where they had gone to celebrate a victory for the Kansas Chiefs , noted toxicology reports obtained by Fox 4 KC, according to the “New York Post”.
The bodies of the three friends were found frozen in the backyard of the home two days later, after the worried fiancée of one of the three men saw one of the bodies in the garden.
When the police arrived on the scene, the owner of the house opened the door in his underwear, with a glass of wine in his hand, claiming to have mainly slept the last two days, to the point where he did not know that the bodies of his friends rested in his courtyard, according to the American media.
According to what neighbors reported, large quantities of alcohol may also have been consumed during the evening when two of the men showed up at the small party with two cans of 30 beers, according to the “NY Post”.
A fifth friend present at the scene, Alex Waemer-Lee, left the group around 11 p.m., after mentioning the presence of drugs at the scene by text, according to Fox.
At this time, the investigation is reportedly still ongoing although police have previously indicated that the case will not be treated as a homicide.
For his part, Jordan Willis would have checked himself into rehab, according to what his parents would have indicated, reported the “NY Post”.
The grieving families of the three men are hoping to get answers, while several relatives have speculated that the thirty-year-olds could have used drugs without knowing it.
“I’m not saying there was or wasn’t a crime, but if you don’t immediately suspect foul play, then you should have a story, you should have something to tell the families, and let no one hear anything , it doesn’t make any sense,” Ricky Johnson’s brother, Jonathan Price, lamented to NewsNation on Monday.
