A young couple making love had a scare when their SUV plowed into a river last week in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The near-disaster romp took place early Wednesday near the Schuylkill River in Fairmont Park, according to the Daily Mailciting local police, who said the incident did not cause any injuries.

While having sex in the back of their white Range Rover, one of them is said to have accidentally pushed the manual gearbox lever into ‘D’, before the vehicle took off and headed straight towards the river.

The couple managed to escape drowning by rushing out of the vehicle, which was sinking near the Strawberry Mansion Bridge, before swimming to shore, but the two lovers who escaped unharmed refused any medical attention.

The vehicle, whose headlights were still on, was recovered from the bottom of the river by firefighters who managed to pull it out of the water, added the English-language media outlet, according to which another vehicle had been propelled into the river at the same location, but no one was inside.
