A dog stuck in a container for more than a week was found at a Texas port by US Coast Guard officers who were carrying out inspections.
What a surprise it was for Bryan Wainscott, Lucas Loe, Ryan McMahon and Jose Reyes when they discovered the origin of the barking they were hearing last Wednesday! The container being high, they had to lower it to discover the animal.
“This sweet girl was stuck in the container for at least a week and was tired, hungry and very happy to see her rescuers,” the Heartland District Coast Guard wrote on its Facebook page, adding that the dog received water before being taken to an animal shelter.
After being treated at the Pasadena Shelter, the dog named Connie was transferred to Forever Changes Animal Rescue who will be responsible for finding her a family.
“Connie is a little skinny and currently weighs 30 pounds. She is incredibly sweet, but very shy and afraid of her new environment, as you would expect,” the organization also noted on Facebook.
