A leak at Miami International Airport raised many questions Thursday, as nothing more than a fluorescent green liquid began to flow from a ceiling in one of the areas where passengers were waiting.
“Crews were immediately dispatched to investigate and it was determined that the fluid from the leak was not hazardous. Cleanup efforts were completed within 90 minutes,” Miami International Airport reassured X, according to the New York Post.
Around 9 a.m. Thursday, travelers preparing to board their flight from Miami, Florida’s airport reportedly raised an eyebrow when they saw a large amount of liquid leaking from the ceiling.
The problem is that it was a fluorescent green liquid that began to spread on the floor, in front of stunned witnesses, as can be seen in videos shared on the web by witnesses to the scene.
“This is literally crazy,” a female traveler can be heard saying behind the camera, on X.
Fortunately, despite the questionable color, the liquid in question was not dangerous to health, the authorities decreed. In fact, it was simply a mixture of water and green dye, which is used to detect a leak and trace it back to its source, an airport representative reportedly said in a press release, according to the American media.
In this case, the leak likely came from the airport’s air conditioning system, he continued.
“The valve feeding the pipe has been closed to stop the leak, and cleanup efforts are underway,” he said.
