Mazen Tawfiq Sinokrot, a Palestinian businessman and prominent figure in the city of Jerusalem, not only for his economic contributions, but also in education, endowments, and politics.
Sinokrot was born in the Al-Suwanah neighborhood in Jerusalem, and in the neighborhoods and neighborhoods of the city and its old town, he grew up, educated, and worked in trade and industry.
Sinokrot received his university education in Britain in the field of industry, and returned to the city to build the first wafer biscuit manufacturing factory with his father in the early 1980s.
The Al-Maqdisi businessman recalls the story of the factory, explaining that his father at the time decided not to operate it after the occupation at the time required him to participate in the opening ceremony of what were called “village associations”, which are local authorities affiliated with the occupation.
Sinokrot’s economic investments are numerous, from the tourism cable car project in Jericho, to a date factory, and another for canning agricultural products, and he has a share in a company that prepares graduates for the labor market.
Sinokrot’s role was not limited to economics, but he made contributions to other institutions. He was a member of the Jerusalem Endowments Council for two consecutive terms, a former minister, and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Al-Quds University.
The Palestinian businessman believes that “Jerusalem is the compass,” and calls for investment in it, saying, “Whoever wants to have a bright future should come and invest in Jerusalem.”
