A shooter left four dead, including a police officer, in Manhattan offices, in New York on Monday evening. The author of this shooting killed himself after being actively sought by the authorities, during an important police operation.
Around 8 p.m., the New York City Police Service (NYPD) said the shooter was “neutralized”. Heads said the shooter died due to a “self-inflicted firearm injury”. His body was found at 33e Stall of the skyscraper where he opened fire.
The suspect, a Las Vegas man struggling with known mental health issues, would have acted alone. It is Shane Devon Tamura, 27, whose car registered in Nevada and containing a rifle case was found on the stage. The suspect’s mobile was not known.
Tamura was the holder of a weapon port permit for an expiring pistol in 2027. He would have been seen by security cameras with what seems to be an AR-15, an automatic rifle.

The NYPD police officer who was shot in the back is dead after exchanging shots with the author of the shooting in the building hall, of which he ensured security. His death was noted during the major police operation, around 8:20 p.m.
The authorities report four additional victims, all civilians.
Preliminary information argued that at least one NYPD police officer and two civilians had been affected by the shots, before the balance sheet is increasing. The first calls were received by the 911 around 6:30 p.m. throughout the evening on Monday, the dead and injured account evolved.
The shooting occurred in the building of the 345 Park Avenue, in the heart of Manhattan, reported the police from the NYPD.
This 44 -storey building notably houses the offices of Blackstone, KPMG, Bank of America and JP Morgan, as well as NFL offices.
About twenty armed police officers were sent to scrutinize the floors of the building during the operation.

The mayor of New York, Eric Adams, said on social networks to follow an “investigation into an active shooter”, before speaking later in the evening. He then praised the courage of the policeman who lost his life, Didarul Islam, 36 years old. “He saved lives. He protected New Yorkers, “he added.

The metropolitan emergency management system has warned citizens of delays caused by dense traffic, road closings and public transport disturbances.
“It was like a crowd panic,” said Anna Smith, a worker who was confined for two hours near the premises with several other civilians, to Associated Press.
Nekeisha Lewis, met by NBC News, saw a man approaching the terrace where she argued, shouting with help, showing that she had been shot. “It was practically as a war zone,” she said, adding that it was the most frightening situation she lived.
FBI deputy director Dan Bongino said in a publication on social networks that FBI agents had been dispatched to support local authorities, in what he described as an “active crime scene”.
Shortly after the shooting, elected officials from New York spoke on social networks, denouncing the act and praying for the victims.
Hakeem Jeffries, leader of the Democrat minority in the House of Representatives of the United States, said on X “deeply disturbed by the horrible shooting”.
“This act of shocking terror is a dark recall of the persistent danger posed by firearms, the tightening of hatred in our society and the exceptional courage of the NYPD officers who risk their lives to protect the rest of us,” added the Democratic representative Ritchie Torres.
Republican representative Nicole Maliotakis expressed having “broken heart”, praying for people who were “seriously injured” by a “crazy” shooter.
“I am incredibly grateful for the rapid response of the NYPD and the bravery of all the officers of the law who endanger themselves to protect others,” said Republican representative Claudia Tenney, adding that her team monitors the situation closely.
