Around 8 p.m. Monday, the NYPD said that the shooter had been “neutralized”. Managers said that the shooter would have died due to a “self-inflicted firearm injury”.

This one, a 27-year-old Las Vegas man, acted alone.

The three people to have been targeted by shots are a nyp police officer and two civilians.

The Nypd police officer, who was shot in the back, is dead. His death was noted during the important police operation, around 8:20 p.m. The state of the two civilians remains currently unknown.

The shooting occurred in the building of 345 Park Ave, in the heart of Manhattan, the police of the New York City Police (NYPD) reported.

This building with many floors in particular houses the offices of Blackstone, KPMG, Bank of America and JP Morgan, as well as NFL offices.

The suspect of the shooting would have acted alone.

The mayor of New York, Eric Adams, said on social networks to follow an “investigation into an active shooter”. He asked that citizens remain inside and to take security precautions if they were in the sector.

The metropolitan emergency management system has warned citizens of delays caused by traffic, road closings and public transport disturbances due to the important police intervention.

FBI deputy director Dan Bongino said in a publication on social networks that FBI agents had been dispatched to support local authorities, in what he described as an “active crime scene”.

Shortly after the shooting, elected Democrats of New York spoke on social networks, denouncing the act and praying for the victims.

Hakeem Jeffries, leader of the Democrat minority in the House of Representatives of the United States, said on X “deeply disturbed by the horrible shooting”.

“This act of shocking terror is a dark recall of the persistent danger posed by firearms, the tightening of hatred in our society and the exceptional courage of the NYPD officers who risk their lives to protect the rest of us,” added the Democratic representative Ritchie Torres.
