Lulu Gribbin’s mother, Ann Blair Gribbin, says it was “their first mother-daughter trip to the beach” with other friends from Birmingham.

After dinner, the mothers headed to the beach to join their daughters who were playing in the water, she said. When they arrived, no one was in the water, but several people said a shark was nearby.

The lady then realized that her daughter was a victim of this shark.

“I saw his leg injuries and started screaming. She was inert, her eyes closed, her mouth white and pale. “All that was left of his leg was worthy of a film,” she tells the site. CaringBridge.org.

Fortunately, two vacationing doctors were on the beach at the time of the attack.

They were therefore able to provide some care to the injured girl.

She was quickly airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, an hour and 20 minutes’ drive away.

“We prayed the whole way,” the mother wrote.

A few hours later, she learned that her daughter lost her left hand in the attack, as well as her right leg, since it had to be amputated between the knee and the hip.

“Obviously, no one wants that for their child, but fortunately she is alive,” she added.

“I am forever grateful for the work of the three surgeons and all the nurses and doctors who saved Lulu,” she said. We will have to undergo numerous surgeries in the coming days, our lives will be forever changed.
