Police in Lee, Florida, had a field day arresting a mother, who allegedly claimed to have had her children’s Christmas presents stolen to attract donations from the public, by using a Grinch costume to handcuff him.
“This pathetic behavior is unacceptable, especially given the circumstances of this holiday season. This woman took advantage of the system and is now paying the price for her selfish choices,” Sheriff Carmine Marceno of Lee County, Florida, harshly hammered last week on Facebook.
On November 19, Shana Hudson, 39, contacted the police to report a theft from her home, including all the recently purchased Christmas gifts for her children.
Given “the unfortunate circumstances and the bad timing”, a few weeks before the Christmas holidays, the investigators themselves would have decided to organize a collection of gifts from charitable organizations, in order to surprise the mother, continued the body policeman in his publication.
At the same time, the latter would have turned to television to tell her tearful story, attracting the sympathy of her community, reported the “New York Post” on Wednesday.
Except that this whole story was just window dressing, investigators discovered after receiving information leading them to the residence of another family member, where they allegedly located all the stolen items.
Stung, the police chose to invite the Grinch to dance during the arrest of the mother, by sharing the humiliating video on social networks.
“Driiing driiing!” Hey Shana, Chouville called, they want their Grinch back (…) Hudson was transported to the Marceno Motel for her charges, where this Grinch will have plenty of time to think twice before stealing Christmas,” continued to taunt the Lee County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook.
The 30-year-old was accused of fraud and making a false report to law enforcement.
