A woman killed her boyfriend by stuffing him in a suitcase during a tasteless game of hide-and-seek, CNN reported.
Sarah Boone was found guilty Friday of second-degree murder after leaving her ex-boyfriend to die.
In 2020, the couple planned a romantic evening drinking chardonnay and doing puzzles at their apartment in Winter Park, near Orlando, Florida.
The two adults thought it would be “funny” to play hide and seek and fit into a piece of luggage, according to an official statement from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
When Mme Boone unzipped the suitcase, she could see two of the five fingers of her boyfriend, Jorge Torres, on the outside of the item. So she assumed he could handle it on his own.

The 47-year-old then headed into the bedroom and waited for her partner to come join her, but he never arrived.
The next morning, she found it in the luggage. He was no longer breathing.
“In the videos she recorded, the victim can be heard telling the defendant that he can’t breathe and asking to get out of the suitcase,” said a statement from a US attorney’s office.
Mme Boone reportedly replied that he deserves it. She added that this is the feeling she gets when she gets cheated on by him.
“I can’t breathe, seriously,” Mr. Torres said in the phone video.
At the trial, the defense of Mme Boone claimed she suffered from “battered woman” syndrome and feared for her life, according to news from WFTV. She also reiterated that she thought the man could get out of the luggage.
She said she was very disappointed by the verdict. She will know her sentence on December 2 and could face life in prison.
