An American woman from Pennsylvania came home to discover that her cat had been locked in the wall of her apartment, where workers had just carried out renovation work.
“I felt so bad, he looked scared,” testified the one who calls herself “Jay” in a TikTok video which has accumulated more than 2.5 million views in less than a week, according to the “ New York Post.
When the woman returned home, she heard the feline meowing and scratching at the wall, even though it had in fact just been accidentally walled in by workers carrying out renovation work.
The owner then tried in vain to contact the workers before alerting the emergency services who advised her to make a hole in the wall, which allowed the feline to free itself from its unfortunate position.
The cat’s owner reported the incident to the building manager, who she asked to check with the workers to see how this could have happened, the New York Post continued.
Horrified by the images of the feline stuck in the wall, several Internet users commented extensively on the video, even accusing the workers of having deliberately walled the cat up, while others admitted to having experienced the same mishap.
“An HVAC company stuck my cat in the wall, and when my husband told them and asked for help, they recommended we get another pet,” one user complained.
