American star Shantel VanSanten has reached an amicable settlement with her ex-husband Victor Webster over custody of their dog Nova that could cost her dearly.
The “One Tree Hill” actress risks paying her ex-partner $10,000 per day if she keeps the dog for more than three weeks at a time, according to court documents seen by the New York Post.
The 38-year-old, who has appeared on several hit TV shows, is also required to provide frequent updates on Nova’s location to her ex-husband whenever the dog is in her care, a situation that doesn’t impress VanSanten’s attorney.
“Even if you love your pet, if you share custody of that pet, you’re going to have to continue to see this person you no longer want to be around,” Susan Moss told the American media.
Nova served as a ring bearer at one of VanSanten and Webster’s September 2021 wedding ceremonies, while custody of the couple’s two cats, Finnegan and Phillippa, went to the 51-year-old actor’s brother.
