A 14-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a sixty-year-old man while visiting her grandparents in a naturist club labeled “non-sexual” and “family-friendly” in Minnesota last July.
Last Thursday, Steven H. Wicklund, 69, was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct against a 14-year-old girl, according to a criminal complaint obtained by the Star Tribune and relayed by the New York Post” Tuesday.
The alleged pedophile, who was a family friend, allegedly took advantage of the fact that the young girl was visiting her grandparents at the Oakwood Club naturist club to sexually assault her and force her to touch his genitals, while they were sitting together, without clothes, in the establishment.
According to the court document, the man allegedly claimed that “it was good and normal” for him to touch her in the context, the American newspaper said.
But in the months that followed, he allegedly continued to harass her with explicit text messages, asking her sexual questions and notably asking for photos of her and her friends.
For her part, the teenager kept silent about the events, until her mother discovered by chance the disturbing demands of the individual, immediately denouncing him to the police, according to the “NY Post”.
Steven H. Wicklund could receive a sentence of 15 years in prison as well as a fine of US$30,000 if he is found guilty, according to the American media. He is due in court on January 12.
