Occupied Jerusalem- On November 5, 15 Israeli settlers with their weapons stormed a plot of land in the Armenian neighborhood in the Old City of Jerusalem, called “Cow Garden,” taking advantage of the world’s preoccupation with the aggression against Gaza.
On the 15th and 16th of the same month, the occupation police ordered the neighborhood’s residents to vacate the plot of land where they were protesting in rejection of attempts aimed at seizing it for settlement purposes, and arrested some of them. Since that day, Armenian activists have continued their sit-in against the seizure of their neighborhood’s lands.
There is talk of suspicions of two secret deals to sell or rent an area of 11,500 square metres, or about a quarter of the area of the Armenian Quarter in Jerusalem, with ostensibly investment entities behind which settlement associations stand.
