Investigation Discovery and Maxine Productions didn’t waste any time! The production companies will be producing a documentary series about the rise and fall of the rapper and record producer. And the news comes shortly after Sean Combs was arrested in Manhattan, New York, on Monday, September 16, and charged the following day with sex trafficking, extortion and transportation for the purpose of engaging in prostitution.
According to a press release, the documentary series will explore “allegations of violent behavior and illegal activity that have weighed on the music mogul. As accounts of sexual assault, abusive behavior and other disturbing allegations surface, the documentary traces the story of this bad boy self-proclaimed, unraveling allegations of a pattern of depravity.”
Combs pleaded not guilty at two hearings in Manhattan but was denied bail. The 54-year-old artist will remain in custody until the end of his trial. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison, with the possibility of life in prison.
Over the past year, Sean Combs has been the subject of a series of allegations of physical and sexual abuse, including accusations that the music mogul punched and kicked women.
The network’s true-crime documentary series will feature interviews with alleged victims, as well as friends and colleagues of the artist. “It will also shine a light on the toxic power dynamics that have played out within the industry and kept many survivors silent, until now,” it said.
The Sean Combs series, whose title has not been revealed, is expected to air in 2025.
