Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said that investment opportunities in Syria will be many after the lifting of US sanctions, a day after the sudden United States declared all the sanctions imposed on the government in Syria.
Prince Faisal added that the Kingdom’s support for Syria will witness remarkable progress after the lifting of US sanctions.
The Saudi minister described “the decision to lift the sanctions as bold and important,” noting that Saudi Arabia will support the stability and prosperity of Syria.
He said, “The decision to lift US sanctions was necessary for the stability of Syria,” adding, “We hope to lift European sanctions from Syria.”
Trump suddenly announced yesterday that the United States would raise all the sanctions imposed on the government of Syria, and Trump said that Washington is considering the possibility of normalizing relations with Damascus.
Trump made this statement during a summit between the United States and the Gulf states.

Arab countries welcomed, on Tuesday evening, the announcement of US President Donald Trump to lift sanctions on Syria, with a praise of the efforts of Türkiye and Saudi Arabia in this path.
This came according to official positions issued by Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Palestine, Yemen, Lebanon, Libya and Syria.
In a speech at the Saudi -American Investment Forum in Riyadh yesterday, Trump said that the sanctions are “brutal and disobedient and it is time for Syria to rise,” adding, “I will lift the sanctions on Syria to give them an opportunity to grow and develop.”
He continued that he took this decision after discussing it with the Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Trump said that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will meet his Syrian counterpart in Türkiye, without more details.
