A self-proclaimed Texas pastor dressed as a scary version of the Christmas Grinch was chased away by parents Tuesday while standing outside an elementary school with a poster declaring that Santa Claus does not exist.

“Santa Claus is fake. Jesus is real,” could be read on the poster held up on Tuesday by David Harold Grisham, dressed in a scary costume imitation of the green character created by Dr. Seuss, according to what the “New York Post” reported on Thursday .

It was in front of Sleepy Hollow elementary school in Amarillo, Texas, that the man “scared children and their parents,” according to the director of the establishment, while he challenged them, telling them that they should not “should not lie to children,” we can see in a video filmed by the man.

His presence was “unwanted and uninvited,” director Kelsey Williams told “ABC7,” indicating she was saddened by the impact of the individual’s behavior on parents and their children.

Two parents then took the situation in hand, attempting to chase the individual away and tear up his poster, before the police got involved in their turn.

However, David Harold Grisham was not arrested since he was not breaking any laws by standing “legally on the sidewalk,” Amarillo police reportedly told “ABC7,” according to the American media.

The man, however, complained on Facebook of having been attacked by a parent, while the police officers did, according to him, “their best to distract me from my mission and prevented me from carrying out as much as possible.” they could my first amendment rights (…) Very unprofessional,” he wrote.

In another publication, the self-proclaimed “pastor” indicated that other Grinch should follow in his footsteps in the coming weeks, according to the “NY Post”.
