A Republican candidate running for Congress in Virginia uses a campaign photo in which he poses with a friend’s wife and children.
Derrick Anderson, running in Virginia’s Seventh District, poses with a wife and children in a photo he is using for his campaign, like a family photo, but it is not about his wife nor his children, but rather those of a friend.
We can notably see the candidate at the end of a five-minute video smiling at the camera in the company of a woman and two children with a framing reminiscent of a family photo.
This is what the New York Times reports in an article about Republican candidates who are making more and more efforts to soften their image by putting their wives in the forefront.
Questioned by the American media, Mr. Anderson’s campaign team indicated that “all the other candidates in the United States pose in similar photos with women who support them and their children.”
The photo was not used for advertisements, however.
