American actor Steve Buscemi had to be taken to hospital on Wednesday after he was randomly punched in the face while walking on the streets of New York, becoming the latest victim in a series of disturbing attacks.
“Buscemi was attacked in downtown Manhattan: another victim of a random act of violence in the city. It was last Wednesday that the American actor was allegedly violently attacked for no reason by an “unidentified individual” while he was walking in New York City, the New York City Police Department said ( NYPD) to the American media.
“The Emergency Medical Service intervened and transported the victim in stable condition for treatment for bruising, swelling and bleeding to the left eye,” the police force reportedly said.
At this time, no arrests had yet been made in the case, while police were still trying to identify the suspect, a dark-skinned man, wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, blue t-shirt , black pants and white sneakers.
The NYPD also appealed to the public by sharing an image of the individual.
This attack is only the latest in a long series, with many women reportedly reporting similar attacks while simply going about their business in the streets of the Big Apple.
Steve Buscemi is known in particular for his roles in Reservoir Dogs And Fargobut also for having lent his voice in several animated films, including Hotel Transylvania.
